Aside from my role as a Dietitian, I have spent over a decade teaching people how to get fit as a Group Fitness Instructor. I see people attend classes regularly, work hard and sweat bucket loads. Clearly they are gaining strength and fitness, but for some of those diligent exercisers, those pesky last few kilos just won’t budge! If that sounds like you, read on!

For the uninitiated, Canberra’s King O’Malley’s Irish Pub was named after the tee-totalling federal politician who would not have been seen dead ordering even a thimble of stout. O’Malley led a successful charge to temporarily ban alcohol in the ACT, an irony not missed on the punters who swarm each year to celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the recently-crowned ‘Pub of the Century’.

‘Parties at the Shops’ is back for 2014 and is in full swing with the first party happening at Garran Shops last Saturday!

This weekend kicks off on Friday 14 March at Scullin Shops from 3pm to 7pm. This party has an arts-focused line-up of events, including sounds of music by the Shooting Stars Choir, followed by an invigorating drum workshop by music teacher Jim Sharrock, and live music by The Gaps and Blues/pop duo Ultraviolet.
