WIN tickets to Strangerland, starring Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman makes a welcome return to Australian independent cinema in this striking film. The teenage children of Catherine (Kidman) and Matthew (Joseph Fiennes) mysterious disappear from the outback town the family has recently settled in. When local cop Rae (Hugo Weaving) tries to solve the case, he uncovers a dark history that has repercussions for him too.

Strangerland premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and is currently in competition at the Sydney Film Festival. The film will have it’s exclusive season at Palace Cinemas nationally from 11 –17th June.

Saturday Night Live at Transit Bar – Lurch and Chief

The Melbourne based Lurch and Chief played for a packed Transit Bar on Saturday 23 May as a part of their ‘Breathe’ EP tour. The crowd was in for a diverse evening of music, as local bands Foreign Kings and Slow Turismo. Kicked off the night, and Lurch and Chief took the stage around 11.00pm with a great set.

This weekend, WhiskyLive hits the ANU Refectory this weekend, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May. To prepare ourselves for the beautiful drinks on display, OutInCanberra sat down with visiting whisky and food writer from "target="_blank">Whisky Magazine International, Martine Nouet. Martine, a native Frenchwomen who has moved to Scotland, was on a short trip to Australia to investigate the local scene.
