Here at OutInCanberra we are big believers in digital media and all the wonderful benefits it can bring. Sometimes though, there is just no substitute for getting out and about. A Table for Six – a series of evenings that bring dynamic single Canberrans together – is a great example of what can be achieved when you get out from behind your computer.

So, how does this all work? Well, it’s all pretty simple. After taking a membership to A Table for Six, Jenny (who looks after the business in Canberra), will spend a bit of time getting to know you and your interests before finding a seat at an up–coming event. Jenny’s aim is to create a relaxed, safe environment for you and other guests to savour delicious food and wine over dinner.

Jenny also keeps a track of who you have dined with , so you’re always guaranteed to meet a fresh, new bunch of Canberrans at each dinner you attend. It’s a fantastic alternative to online dating where you’re very much left to your own devices to trawl through an inbox filled with emails in an attempt to determine who you’ll risk a one-on-one date with.

A Table for Six dinners occur all year round. However, the next event will be a cocktail evening at Alchemy Bar in Manuka. This is a great opportunity to meet local singles and is not limited by age or to members. It’s all happening on Saturday 7th September. Finger food is supplied as part of your ticket fee, and you are free to buy your own (or somebody else’s!) drinks.

To get involved with A Table for Six you have a couple of options. For non-members keen to register for the cocktail evening there is a straight-up fee of $60 with no more to pay (other than your drinks). A Table for Six members discount is $10 and you’ll only pay $50.

It’s first-in-best-dressed for September’s event, so head over to www.atableforsix.com.au to register your place – or grab a membership – prior to Sunday 25th August to secure your place at Alchemy next month! Alternatively call Jenny on 0408 451 476 to discuss joining A Table for Six and you could be meeting new friends at dinner next weekend.
