So, we put the question to you on our socials: what underrated café deserves more love? 

You delivered. From colourful Southside grocers to late-night Belconnen comfort food, here are a few hidden gems you reckon more people should know about. 

 

Eddies Organics, Pearce 

 

Pearce shops might not be the first place you think of for a morning coffee run, but Eddies Organics is giving locals plenty of reasons to stop by.   

Part organic grocer, part eclectic café, it’s a bright and colourful spot serving wholesome food, coffee, fresh produce and seriously good toasties. Grab breakfast, pick up a few groceries while you’re there and call it a very productive coffee run. 

 

Little Oink, Cook 

Cook shops has quietly become a bit of a suburban gem, and Little Oink is a big part of that. 

The pig theme might be playful, but the food and coffee is seriously good. Enjoy Two Before Ten coffee, generous breakfast plates and friendly local service. Also, there’s parking. Never underestimate the joy of easy parking.

 

63do Coffee, Turner 

Tucked away on the edge of the city, 63do is a saviour for public servants and Turner locals alike.   

It’s small, unassuming and easy to miss, but that’s part of the appeal. Drop in for a bacon and egg roll, consistently good espresso and a quick grab-and-go start to the day.

 

CASA Espresso, Braddon 

Braddon is not exactly short on places to get coffee, but CASA Espresso has earned a loyal following for keeping things simple. 

The Lonsdale Street café is all about good coffee, and delicious fresh breakfast bagels. A handy one for the pre-work coffee run or a low-fuss morning stop.

 

Rose N Brew Cafe & Acai Bar, Greenway 

 

Down south, Rose N’ Brew is winning over locals with coffee, brunch, açaí bowls and a very strong matcha game. 

According to our readers, they serve up some of the best matcha in Tuggeranong, alongside generous açaí bowls loaded with fresh fruit and colourful breakfast plates. 

It’s bright, fresh and well worth crossing the bridge for. 

 

Canberra Cafe and Burgers, Belconnen 

Sometimes you don’t need a delicate avocado rose at 9am. Sometimes you need chips, burgers and something satisfying at a time when most cafés have long since closed. 

That’s where Canberra Café and Burgers comes in. The Belconnen spot is known for late-night comfort food, with burgers, wraps and loaded fries served until midnight every night.
