Braddon has no shortage of places to eat, but Mugii is giving noodle lovers a fresh reason to stop by.

The warm dining spot brings together carefully crafted ramen, layered broths, fusion-inspired dishes and a relaxed atmosphere made for everything from quick lunches to low-key dinners with friends.

Created by founder Yu Han “Angela” Hsu, Mugii was created to bridge the gap between fast street food and a relaxed, thoughtful dining experience.

“Braddon has always been the vibrant heartbeat of Canberra’s food culture,” says Angela. “Our vision is to offer a welcoming space where locals can drop in for a quick, exceptionally crafted bowl of ramen during lunch, or relax over a fusion-inspired meal with friends in the evening.”

Inside, the space has been renovated to feel inviting, warm and a little more relaxed than your standard quick-service noodle spot.

“We wanted to give guests a relaxed, unconstrained, yet slightly sophisticated feeling,” Angela explains. “It’s a place with a great atmosphere where people can chat freely, unwind after work over drinks, or settle in for date night.”

The Art of the Layered Broth

At the heart of Mugii is its broth, and that’s what sets it apart.

Rather than leaning on heavy, one-note flavours, the team has focused on building a broth that unfolds as you eat. The result is a balanced, deep and delicious broth from first sip to the last.

“We wanted the broth to be not only balanced in flavour, but also layered,” says Angela. “When customers drink the broth, they’ll first experience the aroma of chicken, then green onions, and finally subtle vegetable notes.”

That attention to detail carries through to the toppings too. Alongside classic ramen elements, bowls feature a dual-protein combination of crisp fried chicken cutlets and tender smoked chicken, paired with ramen eggs marinated in a rich house dashi.

Must-Try Dishes

Signature Chicken Ramen: A great starting point, showcasing Mugii’s delicate, aromatic and multi-layered broth.

Spiced Orange Ramen: A vibrant twist on the classic, with a punchy citrus-and-spice balance.

Scallops & Spring Rolls: A crisp side dish that brings together seafood and plenty of crunch.

House-Made Kimchi: Fermented in-house for the perfect tangy kick alongside your noodles.

A Commitment to Consistency

While Mugii plans to introduce rolling seasonal specials to keep the menu fresh for regulars, the core philosophy remains anchored in quality and consistency.

“No matter how much the menu expands, your favourite signature dishes will always be crafted with the precise care, balance, and quality you expect from us,” Angela promises.
