There is an all new reason to take the scenic 30-minute drive out to Wamboin. Opening its doors on the rolling hills that once housed Contentious Character, Aranya Acres is the ambitious new venture from hospitality duo Jovi Arya and Emily Cunich.
The name, derived from Sanskrit, evokes a “secluded wilderness”, and the experience delivers exactly that. The sweeping mountain views, rows of vines, accompanied with a sunset that pairs perfectly with their signature champagne, martini, and oyster trolley make for a great mini escapade out of Canberra.
Native Flavours Meet Multicultural Heritage
Jovi Arya has brought in former Capitol Bar & Grill head chef Pranell Singh to execute a culturally inventive menu. The kitchen explores Australian native ingredients and global techniques, resulting in dishes you would be troubled to find anywhere else in the region. If you’re looking for a kick of spice or something new, we highly recommend the Spicy Southern Fried Crocodile with pickled watermelon rind salsa or the Seared Barramundi finished with an olive seed dukkah and lemon myrtle. However, if you rather seek out a familiar comfort, Aranya Acres has a wide array of wood-fired oven sourdoughs to accompany premium cuts of meat such as their Rib Eye Wagyu with Bordelaise and charred lemon.
Discover Aranya Acres at your leisure this autumn and enjoy the views and flavours.
