'90's got it going on

Friends who dress well stay together! Jordan and Tanisha are besties each with their own individual style.

We would all agree that Jordan draws inspiration from the '80's and '90's and carries it well.

“I am the type of person who likes to o dress for comfort. I don’t think you should try and copy someone’s style. Instead dress for you! Clothing is a great way to express yourself.”

The fresh princess of Civic

The Fashion Vault photographer Deejay had the pleasure of meeting Bernadette when she hit the streets of Civic this week.

This gorgeous woman is skin specialist at Mecca and was stopped for a few minutes on her way to see some friends.

Bernadette’s vibrant personality is matched by her clothing - with inspiration drawn from the cult classic Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

“I like to mismatch fashion. Pushing elements of feminine and classy mixed in with my own personal funk,” said Bernadette.

The best fashion advice she has received comes from her mother.

“My mother used to always tell me, don’t dress like every one else. Create your own fashion and most importantly dress for your body type.”

Asilio Aficionado

Local fashion blogger Michaela was spotted at the VIP event for the 1st birthday of Rebel Muse.

Looking amazing in this black and white combination, The Fashion Vault took a minute to snap her style.

Michaela’s favourite store, since moving to Canberra from Darwin, has quickly become Rebel Muse as it sells a number of brands such as Asilio.

Her go-to fashion choice is black, but when she’s feeling playful Michaela says she opts for splashes of colour.

Vintage Mix-Up

At only 18 Tanisha already has a strong sense of personal style going on.

Her style is confident and quirky with a Woodstock vibe to it. Tanisha’s favourite store to shop is Landspeed records at Garema Place. Landspeed is her one-stop-shop for carefully curated vintage pieces and hand made items... and records of course!

She also loves to pull vintage items from her amazingly stylish mother, crediting her boots and todays bag to her.

Bend It Like Beckham

The Fashion Vault style stumbled upon soccer-player/uni-student, Priya, out the front of 332 Manhattan café.

The walking beauty know boasted so much style and poise that we needed to know more about her and the fashion influences.

Being a uni student we discussed being a savvy shopper.

“Obviously being a uni student I have limited cash flow. My favourite stores are Parliament and Zara, but I also like to mix it up.”

“I don’t think you need to spend a lot to look good - for example my jeans are from Jay Jays. They fit well and the price was even better.”

TFV agrees with mixing it up - it’s important to shop around and be open to the cheaper high street stores to help complete your look.
