Style Stalker: Erin

Erin is a woman with a keen eye for style and a genuine interest in the fashion world, always in the know about the latest designer goss and news - especially among the Australian labels.

We spotted her judging the Myer Face of Canberra Racing competition at Siren Bar & Restaurant last week, and how could we have missed her? The hot pink Camilla & Marc dress she was wearing caught our eye right away. We recognised her outfit from the Resort 2014 collection, so it’s pretty much hot off the runway!

Erin accessorised this statement dress with a sass and bide cuff and her gorgeous diamond Tennis Bracelet. She went with a pair of nude suede peep-toe shoes and pinned her golden locks into a low braid up-do which gave the outfit the minimalistic finishing touches required.

Erin is the owner of Mudd The Spa and Evo Health Club - both here in Canberra, clearly a lady who likes to take care of herself!

A Lesson in Style

By Jemma Mrdak

This week's Style Stalker just goes to show that any woman of any age can dress well and be fashionable. Carol evidently knows just how to dress for her age, but also isn't afraid to wear colours and prints that to some could seem more suited to a different generation.

We absolutly love the fact that Carol has gone against the stereotype and is wearing a bright blue pant, which has been paired perfectly with her colourful speckle print shirt, which is her favourite item purely because of the vibrant colours. The glitzy sandals and jewelery add an extra touch of glam to her already stylish outfit, and the black bag adds a nice contrast between the colours.

Mature ladies - put away the drab and boring outfits! It's time to add some colour and sparkle into your life. Follow in Carol's footsteps and don't be afraid to experiment with fashion.

Style Stalker: Charlene

Our Style Stalker , Charlene, works in retail at one of her favourite Australian fashion houses, Cue. Charlene certainly knows a thing or two about how to pull an outfit together and lucky for her she gets to be stylish in the clothes that she loves all day, every day! Working in retail is a great opportunity to be exposed to an industry that is both exciting, fast paced, and forever changing.

Flaunting the classic peplum - which has been updated via a cutout neckline and ruffled hem - has Charlene loving the unique touches for the upcoming season. We simply admired her statement printed pants - paired nicely with silver flats. The look screams sophistication, with a touch of chic style - perfect for those working in the industry.

For those of you that are searching for new trends this season, definitely look towards printed pants and the updated peplum! A hot tip, according to Charlene, is that we will be seeing lots of tweed season. It's a great trans-seasonal fabric coming in preparation for Autumn/Winter 2014.

WOW! was the word that came straight to mind when we spotted the stunning and immaculately dressed Erin out shopping this weekend. We just had to stop and ask her a few details about her stylish outfit.

The mid-length maxi dress instantly caught our eye. It was the perfect fit and looked great. Dressed head-to-toe in vibrant blues, purples and black, Erin is a true representation of what we should expect to see from Canberra women this season: more colour and mid-length dresses!

The weather is too beautiful for one not to wear bright colours, which Erin styled with sleek black accessories. We love that she was able to mix a beautiful dress with precisely-chosen accessories that weren't over the top!

As this very hot Summer rolls on, why don't you try mixing it up a bit? Swap those T-shirts and shorts for a free flowing mid-length maxi dress that will not only keep you cool, but simply make you look and feel beautiful!

Trend Report: Pastels

If there is one trend that suits all four seasons and looks great on anyone, it’s pastel. This is one of the few trends able to be worn head-to-toe creating an overall lady-like look, which can easily be taken from day to night.

Pastels are most popular during Spring - popping up at outdoor events such as the polo or the races and picnics - but they’re also great colours for the office, Friday afternoon cocktails and weekend activities.

So how can you implement the pastel trend into your wardrobe? Again, don’t be afraid to brave head-to-toe colour in pastel shades. Think lady-like stilettoes with pointed toes, knee-length hemlines, dainty florals, hats, sunglasses, jewelry and classic purses.

Try pairing crop jackets and flowing dresses for day wear, skirts and soft blouses for the office, and structured pants with a floral-print bustier for the evening. Experiment with the rainbow of colours, fabric textures, soft feathers, and even lace for a classic take on the trend.

This style is all about being daring with feminine beauty and it’s a good excuse to be overly chic! Plus, it’s light and fresh and is a great complimenting colour palette for every skin tone.
