The Street Theatre complex opened in May 1994, replacing two former buildings (both destroyed by fire) that had been adapted as theatre venues. The Street Theatre was built by the ACT Government to serve the theatre needs of audiences and practitioners, with an emphasis on locally-produced professional theatre. The Street is operated by The Stagemaster Inc. (trading as The Street Theatre), a not-for-profit community organisation formed specifically to tender for management of the new complex, under an Occupancy Agreement with the ACT Government. More»

After the 2003 bushfires destroyed Stromlo Forest the ACT Government Bushfire Recovery Taskforce was established to advise the ACT Government on recovery and act as a bridge between Government Agencies and the Community.
