John Butler Trio w/Brett Dennen @ Canberra Theatre

John Butler arrived in Canberra on Saturday night, to present his new Trio. Performing to a packed house, he again proved why he is a shining beacon for musicians all around the world. As well as the main event, audiences were treated to the affable and care-free Brett Dennen. With a few shakes of his loosely connected hips, North-Californian Dennen quickly garnered the audience’s attention with quirky Acoustic/Pop tunes.

The media has given celebs computer screens of flak for this season's biggest do/don't: visible shoulder pads. Made big by Balmain's Spring/Summer 09 collection, the visible shoulder pad has been seen sported by the likes of Rhiannon, Kim Kardashian and Kristen Cavallari, with none of them actually doing this tricky look any justice. Shoulder pads hail from the 80’s, so keep the rest of your look polished and modern (go easy on the jewellery) to avoid looking like an unfortunate blast from the past.

Australia Day Live 2010: More acts announced

Canberra is gearing up for a diverse night of entertainment at the 2010 Australia Day Live concert on Monday January 25. Bob Evans, Evermore and Hayley Warner will be joining the likes of Bertie Blackman, Cassie Davis and Ian Moss on the lawns of Parliament House for this year’s concert. Kevin Mitchell, lead singer of much loved Perth indie band Jebediah, is now an ARIA award winning singer-songwriter in his own right, performing under the name Bob Evans.
