Fireside Festival

Throughout August Canberra will be hosting the second annual Fireside Festival welcoming visitors and locals to try the finest wines and food the Canberra region has to offer. The festival will be running on each of the weekends of August each promising a variety of entertainment. On offer will be music by local performers, hands-on food and wine classes, wine tastings and a plethora of feasts to choose from.

Block Party to celebrate Trinity's 6th Birthday

Trinity is turning six and to celebrate it is hosting a colossal party that is sure to rock Canberra for months to come. And if you needed another reason to come, all profits from the entry fee will be generously donated to Oxfam International. Heralded as the Car Park Block Party, the event will be held in Trinity’s car park in Challis St, and is licensed to hold 1000 groovers and shakers!

Australia Day Live '06

They came with eskies, they came with children and strollers and flags. Spreading out picnic rugs and folding chairs, 35 000 people packed Federation Mall on the lawns of Parliament House for the Australia Day Live '06 concert. The crowd was awash with the blue and red of Australian flags, flecked with Aboriginal and boxing kangaroo flags.

Award winning Canberra born chef, Mick Chatto, who made his mark in Sydney at the famous Pier Restaurant in Rose Bay, and the highly popular Fishface in Darlinghurst has set sail back to Canberra, entering the kitchen as Head Chef and partner at Artespresso. Joining forces with Artespresso’s Nick Gravias has proved a successful collaboration, with the menu being ramped up with Mick’s flavours of choice.

AHA highest honours dished out

The Awards for Excellence in the dining, entertainment and hotels industry were dished out last night at the Australian Hotels Association Awards for Excellence gala dinner. In addition to the OutInCanberra People's Choice Award winners, an array of AHA honours were issued to deserving venues and individuals. Mezzalira Ristorante triumphed with the AHA Best Prestigious Dining and Best Wine List Award for the second consecutive year. An outstanding achievement by a Restaurant that continues to add awards to their ever growing list of achievements.

Trinity Block Party

More than a 1500 party minded punters gathered in a Dickson car park on Saturday 12th January to soak up the beats and treats of the Annual Trinity Block Party. The day was warmed up with hot local act Andi & George and hip-hop 8 piece Casual Projects, who belted out big sounds despite the looming rain clouds and weather warning forecasts. Not strangers to bad weather, our friends from Lexington Music (who also brought us Foreshore) embraced the rain- and so did the crowds
