Spring is certainly in the air and there is no better sign that Canberra is emerging from the cold than with the return of Night Market Canberra.
Back for its third event on Friday 11 September, Night Market Canberra were one of the success stories of last summer. As with all good things, it started with the simplest of ideas. Natalie Weber and co-founder Marissa Christian saw the potential for a new style of entertainment experience in Canberra, where high quality market stalls would sit amongst food stalls in a comfortable environment that the whole family could enjoy. But first they had to find a location for the event.
When Natalie Weber sat at Maple+Clove in the Realm precinct and looked across the park and laneway, she knew she’d found the perfect location. “It was all there – the structure, the businesses, the energy of Realm’s management team. It just needed someone to pull it all together.”
So, more than 12 months on, Natalie and Marissa are putting the final touches to next Friday’s spectacular. “It’s amazing how far we’ve come in such a short period of time. We’re looking at over 50 stalls this time around.”
As with previous editions of the Night Market, there will be something for everyone. On offer will be an exciting range of high quality products including men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, accessories, jewellery, homewares, decorative items, lifestyle products and tasty treats.
Some of your favourites from previous Night Market events will be on show with all their new and exciting products for the new season. We’re pretty excited to see what Wink Jewellery, Babic Biscuiteers, Immaculate Conceptions Homewares, Emby Love and Edwoods have come up with throughout the winter break.
As a sign that Night Market Canberra is really starting to gain attention, a number of interstate retailers will also be in attendance next Friday night. From across the border will be Less is Moi, Archon Design, Sou-ven-ir by Hayley Killigrew and Restore Grace.
With plenty of other stalls, live music, food from the local Realm restaurants and entertainment for the kids, Night Market Canberra is set to welcome spring in a blaze of colour, light, and flavours.
