Sydney DJ Sam Scratch is making his way to Academy for a headline set on Saturday 21 August! Born and raised in Sydney, Sam Scratch has exploded onto the Music scene as a force to be reckoned with – the only Australian Dj currently infusing Electronic music with Turntablism to create a truly insane style for the new generation.
Already having supported some major names; Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez, Nick Warren, Guy J, Paolo Mojo, Kid Kenobi, Bingo Players and Don Rimini to name just a few as well as recently performing at Summer Field Dayze in Qld, Sam Scratch has also been quietly working on tracks & remixes which are already seeing light in his eclectic party sets.
Where Sam Scratch manipulates tracks, others merely mix one song into another. Where Sam has found ways of spinning tunes with the use of unique and exciting skills that tear tracks apart, others merely look like they’re still in beat matching 101. Sam Scratch has the ability to unleash sounds that even the producers of those tracks didn’t realize were even there.
Whether it be Electro, House, Nu rave, Tech or Experimental, all genres have been left short of djs with true Turntablism skills and the ability to really rock the party.
