This place is known for you… you guessed it, CHURROS. Hot, toasty tubes of deliciousness covered in sugar and made to dip into hot, sweet choccie dipping sauce. A must visit during winter and beyond!

Via Dolce is an Italian Pasticceria located on Bunda Street in the City boasting a multitude of cakes, tarts, crumbles and sweet treats to warm you up from the inside out. You’ll have to see it to believeit – the treats on display are amazing!

Shop 2/21 ‘The Lawns’ Bougainville Street, Manuka
The hot and cold drinks here will make your mouth drop! The warm fudge brownie shake is super rich and decadent, with toasted marshmallow oozing off the top. For a cold, sweet option, the Nutella Pretzel shake is amazing (but not for the faint hearted!).
MR FRUGII
30 Lonsdale Street, Braddon
Canberra’s newest addition to the dessert scene. Mr Frugii not only offers a wide range of unique ice cream flavours but also some pretty delicious looking desserts too (like their choux pastries!). Even in winter though, it’s still hard to stop past those gelatos!
C DINE BAR
19 Eastlake Parade, Kingston
Tucked away on the Kingston Foreshore there is a little dessert at C Dine Bar that cannot be missed. The ‘Cinema’ dessert with popcorn ice cream, cola puree warming popping candy and fairy floss. Such an interpretative (and delicious) take on a trip to the movies!

With the eclectic mix of old and vintage furniture Parlour is already a Canberra hotspot for drinks by a toasty fire, but their dessert of churros with dipping chocolate is served all day, and the smell of warm cinnamon at your table will have you dreaming of Spain!

With two venues – one in Manuka and one in Woden – there’s is double the choice for dessert! The Crème Brulee is a must try with its beautiful crunch on the top and the poached rhubarb on the side. Tiramisu is also a great traditional option for those looking for a refreshing chilled dessert!

The epic brownie has a name at Jamie’s for a reason! This warm, fudgy brownie is a chocolate lover’s delight, and to add a little difference to your traditional brownie, it’s served with amaretto ice cream, so good!
BICICLETTA RESTAURANT
1/5 Edinburgh Avenue, NewActon
An affogato is a forgotten (but delicious) warm dessert. Nothing combines two of my favourite things (being dessert and coffee) better than this. Bicicletta’s affogato is super-delicious, with the hot espresso melting and softening the vanilla ice cream.
SILO BAKERY
36 Giles Street, Kingston
Another sneaky place serving dessert as an acceptable breakfast option! Silo is small, but it all becomes worth it when you taste their delicious tarts, from pear and caramel to a traditional lemon (and there’s a few options for chocolate lovers too!). And all this happens with your latte in your hand.

It’s not all just frozen custard concretes, sundaes, cups and cones. You can also get a warm dessert at Goodberry’s. Try the warm and chewy brownie and, if you like, you can mix it in with the concrete to enjoy a contrasting explosion of hot and cold.
