Some businesses begin with big ideas and flashy concepts. Happy Beads began with a dog and creativity.
Spock, a red-nosed Staffy with a larger-than-life personality, became the mascot behind a new kind of handmade dog accessory brand created on the Sunshine Coast.
Yula, Spock’s loyal human, is a graphic designer by trade with a meticulous eye for colour and detail. Having launched what had started as a personal project, Yuka has seen Happy Beads grow into a boutique label with a simple yet novel purpose of creating accessories as unique as the dogs who wear them.
Yuka tackled the problem like a designer, using colour theory, composition, and aesthetic storytelling. Whilst Spock happily stepped in as the first test model to help determine which hand-stringing beads were most comfortable, which building pieces were durable and pinpoint the colour palettes that had the most character.
Happy Beads isn’t about volume; it’s about craftsmanship and handmade assembly.
As such each piece is:
- Made in small batches.
- Designed with colour-theory in mind.
- Custom colour-matched on request.
- Made with quality and durable materials.
Happy Beads is still in its early chapters but the vision is big, to match dogs with the perfect piece that lets their personality shine.
