Move It Canberra Challenge 2026

Following last year’s astronomic success,  Belgravia Leisure calling on all Canberrans to get active for just 30 minutes and offering free access to their fitness facilities as part of an initiative to reach 20,000 active minutes in one day.

On Saturday 28 March, Stromlo Leisure Centre, Gungahlin Leisure Centre, Erindale Leisure Centre and Lakeside Leisure Centre will open their doors as part of the Move It Canberra Challenge.

From hitting the health clubs to diving into the aquatic facilities or joining a high-energy group exercise class, the day is designed to make staying active accessible, inclusive, and most importantlyfun.

Why a minimum of 30 minutes? The campaign reinforces the vital health habit of moving for at least 30 minutes, five times a week. It’s the perfect time to kickstart a new routine in a welcoming, no-pressure environment.

Proceeds from the event will support local community initiatives through the Belgravia Foundation. A charity aiming to create greater access to sport, aquatic, fitness, recreation and health programs, Belgravia’s goal is to enhance the well-being of our community.

So, choose your activity, get your daily 30 minutes in and help Canberra reach 20,000 active minutes!
