Eating out can be expensive, but Canberra has enough weekly specials to make dining out a little easier on the wallet. And we’re always up for a bargain bite. 

From two-for-one pizzas to $1 dumplings, here are some of the best cheap eats around Canberra, with a deal for every day of the week. 

 

Monday: 2-for-1 Pizzas at The Alby

Start the week in Woden, where The Alby serves up two-for-one pizzas every Monday from 5.30pm. 

Choose from margherita, spicy salami, mushroom, calamari and more, then settle the only important question: who gets the leftover slices for Tuesday’s lunch? 

 

Tuesday: $4 Tacos at Loquita 

Tuesday belongs to tacos. 

Loquita in Civic drops its tacos to $4 every Tuesday evening, giving you a very reasonable excuse to order a few and settle in with a margarita. 

Taco Tuesday runs from 5pm to 9pm. 

 

Wednesday: $16 Schnitty and Sides at The Mawson Club 

For a midweek pub feed, head south to The Mawson Club. 

Every Wednesday, you can grab a massive chicken schnitzel for $16, served with your choice of chips or mash, salad or vegetables and sauce. A pretty solid way to get over the hump and through the rest of the week if you ask us.  

 

Thursday: $1 Dumplings at Dolly’s 

 

Every Thursday, Dolly’s in Civic serves up $1 dumplings, making it dangerously easy to keep ordering more without doing too much damage to the weekly budget. 

  

Bookings are recommended if you’re heading in with a group. 

 

Friday: $12 Pizzas at PJ’s in the City 

 

Friday knock-offs just got a little cheaper. 

Between 3pm and 5pm, PJs in the City is serving up $12 pizzas, with meat lovers, vegetarian and supreme options on offer. Pair one with a Friday happy hour deal and you’ve got a pretty affordable way to ease into the weekend. 

 

Saturday: $1 Wings and $16 Cocktails at The Weston Bull 

 

Saturday calls for wings and cocktails, and The Weston Bull has both covered. 

Head to Weston Creek for $1 wings, then wash them down with one of the pub’s $16 cocktails. There are certainly worse ways to spend a Saturday afternoon. 

 

Sunday: $27 Roast and Drink at Edgar’s 

Finish the week with a proper Sunday roast at Edgar’s in Ainslie. 

For $27, you’ll get the week’s roast with sides plus a house beer, wine or soft drink. It’s available from midday until sold out, so it’s worth getting in early for.
