Fresh from the Ubud Food Festival in Bali, chef Harry Mangat is heading back to Canberra for a five-day collab with Rizla, and it’s set to rock the senses of Lonsdale Street.
Mangat’s travelling kitchen, Biji Dining, has earned a cult following for its modern Indian flavours using local and Indigenous Australian ingredients. He’s cooked alongside some of the biggest names in the industry from O.My and Ides to Serai and Etta – and now, he’s teaming up the Rizla crew to bring his signature style to Braddon.
Imagine fresh takes on Rizla favourites, like tuna tartare with finger lime and makrut oil, or the return of the braised fennel, but this time with whipped paneer, orange and chilli. There’ll also be new dishes each day, so there’s every excuse to come back for round two (or three).
You can also expect rainbow trout from the Snowies with mussel masala, BBQ XO carrots with smoked yoghurt and cardamom chocolate mousse for a dreamy finish.
Rizla’s wine list will also be getting a shake-up to match the food. Their signature Riesling focus will be joined by a fresh drop of Austrian, German and French bottles, plus the top-notch local wines we know and love. Whether you’re doing the full $85 set menu or going à la carte, there’ll be something in your glass to go with it.
Bookings for this one are advised, but walk-ins will also be available throughout the whole week.
