A flock of fantastic creatures will be flying high over Googong this Sunday 14 August as part of the annual event, Flying High. The giant kites will make a spectacular appearance between 11am and 2pm, taking flight from Duncan Fields.

As well as a dragon and dolphin, which are new this year, the fantastic flying creatures include a giant cat and teddy, a huge flying grub and Googong’s own 16-metre-long blue and white ‘sky whale’.

The stunning display of imported mega-kites will be under the guiding hand of local kite expert Ian Burrell.

Bring your own kite or kick back and enjoy the magical free show, while a DJ provides the soundtrack to your day out.

Flying High has been a huge hit over the past two years and this year promises to be bigger and brighter than ever, so pack up your loved ones and head to Duncan Fields for the event of the year – just follow the signs from Beltana Avenue.

Don’t forget to bring a picnic or buy lunch fresh and warm from the onsite barbecue.
