Recap: Australia Day Live @ Lawns of Parliament House

Australia Day Live concert was held on the scenic lawns of Parliament House, which was lit up and made for the perfect backdrop. TV personalities James Mathison and Kate Ritchie set the tone for the night by playing hosts.

This year saw some impressive headline acts, including Guy Sebastian, The Presets, crowd pleaser Jimmy Barnes, and Canberra local Timomatic. The calibre of the artists, and the size of the crowd meant we knew we were in for a treat.

Recap: A Place To Bury Strangers @ Transit Bar

Monday night in Canberra is not a typical night people would choose to go out and watch some live music. But last Monday at Transit Bar there was a surprisingly big turnout for the New York based, three-piece band, A Place To Bury Strangers.

Before I left for Transit, I looked up A Place To Bury Strangers and was surprised to see their music described by many as ‘noise’. I was unsure whether this would be a good thing or not.

Australian Fossil Hunt

Come and see the Australian Fossil Hunt at the National Dinosaur Museum as part of Canberra’s centenary, starting now and finishing at the end of 2013!
