This year National Science Week runs from the 13-21 August to celebrate the world of science and technology. First established in 1997, National Science Week gives all ages the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of Australian scientists, encourage the interest in science pursuits among the general public and create a fascination of the world we live in.

To help you get involved in National Science Week 2016 we have put together a fun-filled list activities and workshops in Canberra this week.

Duality is a collection of images that give us a glimpse into the personality of scientists outside of their white coat – demonstrating that clothes don’t necessarily depict the person.

Canberra Space Centre

Celebrate National Science Week at the Canberra Space Centre. Located at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla, the centre houses the largest antenna complex in the southern hemisphere. Discover Australia’s role in space exploration, learn about the solar system and when your done sit back and relax at the Moon Rock Café.
