Wednesday 15 February marks the day an eager team of Australian cricketers will return to Manuka Oval to face off against their Sri Lankan rivals in the Prime Minister’s XI one-day test.

Australia was defeated in their last match against Sri Lanka back in August of 2016, now many of those same Australian cricketers who lucked out have a chance at redemption in the new year!

Sri Lanka was set to verse our PM’s XI in 2012, but the match was abandoned leaving a 9-year gap since the last time Sri Lanka was invited to oppose Australia in the match.

The Prime Ministers XI T20 match is open to the public and will return to Manuka Oval for the 46th time since the first match was played in 1951.

To kick-start the cricket entertainment at 2:30pm, the ACT’s XI will face off against Papua New Guinea, with the main event taking to the pitch against Sri Lanka at 7:15pm.

For anyone looking to indulge a little at the game, the Prime Minister’s Dinner is available for booking at $600 per head. Other options include The Cricket Club, outdoor boxes and private spaces to entertain guests and watch the match. People wanting to book any of these opportunities should contact [email protected].
