Stromlo Forest Park

After the 2003 bushfires destroyed Stromlo Forest the ACT Government Bushfire Recovery Taskforce was established to advise the ACT Government on recovery and act as a bridge between Government Agencies and the Community.

One of the recommendations of the Taskforce was to establish a world-class multi-use recreational sporting facility available to both recreational and professional users.

From this simple beginning, Stromlo Forest Park is now a one-of-a-kind community facility with exceptional infrastructure for a variety of users.

Stromlo Forest Park boasts a purpose built event pavilion, Criterium cycling circuit, grass cross country running track and mountain bike tracks to suit any level of rider.

Stromlo Forest Park also has various trails available for equestrian riders, runners, and walkers keen on exploring the Canberra countryside.

In 2008 Stromlo Forest Park is host to the National Mountain Bike Championships, World Cross Country Championship Australian Selection Trials, The World Cup and World Championships.

Only ten minutes drive from the city, Stromlo Forest Park is available to the public at most times.
