Since Spring happened faster than lightening, 'hands up' if you're constantly carrying around a gym bag!

Same here... and that's why Sports Luxe is one of our favourite trends at OIC HQ. Also because I forgot my work-appropriate shoes after one 6:00am fitness class and had to wear my sneakers WITH. MY. WORK. CLOTHES.

Normally I wouldn't like to do this unless I am walking to and from the bus stop, and even then it has to be further than 10 minutes for me to feel comfortable doing so. Same deal as no-pyjamas-at-the-grocery-store type thing.... I just kind of don't feel right. But then, bless their cotton socks, street-style snappers decided that workout gear paired with streamlined chic pieces was cool (or that the people wearing them did, but you know what I mean!).

The best part about the Sports Luxe trend is that a 'real' workout doesn't even need to happen in order to nail this trend. Adidas sneakers with a dress? Your boyfriend’s basketball jersey with a pair of sexy stilettos? Yes! It’s fashion!!!!

So, ladies (and the guys too), infuse this style into your wardrobe for a stylish update for spring and embrace the workout-sesh-to-brunch-dates better than ever before: or even no-workout-just-brunch!

Pops of Colour + Prints

This Spring is the perfect time to dress up your casual look with pops of bright colour and bold prints.

I am especially loving everything PINEAPPLE this season. How cool are those printed pineapple pants? Some prints are great for clashing with other prints such as stripes and spots with florals. I think if you are going to wear a really bold or loud print you should definitely pair it with a neutral top or bottom, as our Style Stalker has with the white sweater.

Pops of colour go great with prints - sometimes it's the only matching that will work without looking way too colourful and crazy. Some of you can pull that off which is great, but if you aren't feeling all that daring only pair accessories such as sunglasses, jewellery, a handbag or shoes in pastels for a soft touch and neon for a bit of edge.

Back to Basics

A few weeks ago I spotted two ladies soaking up whatever sun they could fine on a particularly chilly Canberra day. I wrote about Marah and her fabulous blue hue jacket and now here is her friend I mentioned, Tara!

Tara used black basics as a blank canvas to project her feature pieces. She rocked a denim jacket and a thick, tasseled scarf. By adding two different textures to her outfit, Tara created an effectively stylish and practical outfit without having too much going on in her look.

My personal summary of the outfit: effortlessly cool. Nice work Tara!
