Take a moment to gaze upon the lovely Jenny Rodgers. I couldn’t help but feel sunshine standing next to Jenny’s bright ensemble. Her warm personality was the icing on the cake. It definitely too my mind off the never ending foggy mornings and feeling of being very over Canberra's winter of late..
Jenny played this palette carefully, balancing the yellows with touches of deep orange to prevent her from looking washed out. Her long black coat (perfectly on trend) acting as the contrast and allowed the yellow to really pop. When I approached Jenny to ask for her picture her response was “Oh, but this is just what I have worn to work today”. A beautiful reminder to us all that a true woman of style knows life is too short to wear boring clothes and winter doesn't mean we have to reserve ourselves for dark and drab.
Now yellow is not an easy colour to wear and usually reserved for those lucky beauties with caramel to dark skin tones, and as someone with skin paler than NC15 by MAC (if you don’t get it just know that when I play hide-&-go seek all I need to do is stand in front of a white wall and I disappear!) wearing yellow can sometimes make me look like I have caught sea sickness on land. Mustard or pale lemon yellow is definitely the way to go for those with cooler skin tones and just like Jenny remembering it’s all about how you balance it out.
So thanks to Jenny if you are looking to add a bit of warmth and sunshine to add into your winter wardrobe check out the best yellow pieces currently going around below.
