City Chic

Most Canberran fashionistas will recognise the face of this lovely lady. Taylor Pitsilos, from Designer Op Shop, who was looking perfectly chic this past week while playing with two of the biggest trends this season: soft pastels and texture.

Believe it or not, this modern look - that we believe could easily be seen on the streets of this week's New York Fashion Week - is made up entirely of vintage pieces! The vintage leather jacket hanging over Taylor's shoulders was perfectly balanced with her black ankle boots (a must-have item for any style-lovers' wardrobe!). This is the perfect weekend outfit to take from shopping to 'lunch with the girls' to date-night drinks.

All pieces from Designer Op Shop (of course!).

Cool Corporate Casual

Michaela was spotted strolling the grounds of the ANU on her lunch break from a corporate planning day.

Her choice of jumper highlighted her stunning blue eyes. This Cue jumper was - I quote - love at first sight. The jumper has a great colour combination while being neutral enough to pair with blue denim jeans.

Michaela's wardrobe is characterised by items that can be worn both corporately and casually, and a jumper like this is perfect for such an approach. Simply add a collared shirt and some black fitted cigarette pants and you can wear it to the office.

The statement necklace that Michaela wears was a gift from her friend for being her Maid of Honour. A fabulous idea for brides-to-be as your bridesmaids will always think of you when they wear the jewellery.

Pops of Colour + Prints

This Spring is the perfect time to dress up your casual look with pops of bright colour and bold prints.

I am especially loving everything PINEAPPLE this season. How cool are those printed pineapple pants? Some prints are great for clashing with other prints such as stripes and spots with florals. I think if you are going to wear a really bold or loud print you should definitely pair it with a neutral top or bottom, as our Style Stalker has with the white sweater.

Pops of colour go great with prints - sometimes it's the only matching that will work without looking way too colourful and crazy. Some of you can pull that off which is great, but if you aren't feeling all that daring only pair accessories such as sunglasses, jewellery, a handbag or shoes in pastels for a soft touch and neon for a bit of edge.

The Midi Trend

The Spring and Summer months are going to be jam packed with the Midi Skirt. Pair it with a basic tee or tank tucked in for a demure touch that you can wear to work. On the weekends or in the evening wear a midi top made of lace or leather - showing just enough waist with your skirt for a more daring and fun look.

Bare legs and fuss-free beauty are your warm weather friends for the upcoming season. Spring calls for peek-a-boo undergarments and bleached denim separates creating fun clashes and origami shapes. Pops of bright colour are always big and can be the statement of an outfit or added for just a touch.

When choosing your midi skirt, it's all about the length and fit. Choose the style that best accentuates your figure and, for shorter ladies, you may need to get the hem tailored and pulled up just a tad so it sits mid-calf or just below your knee.

Find your midi in bright colours, patterns, silk, chiffon and more. This skirt is a go-to item to keep you looking chic and fun for the next two seasons.

Dylan Does it Easy

We spotted Dylan cruising around Woden on a bright Winter's day. There was a certain laid-back cool about him that captured our attention, and we couldn't help but stop him for a chat.

Dylan found his shirt and jeans at SABA, proving the Spanish multi-national is perfect at providing basics for any wardrobe. Keeping the continental theme going (though not so good for Canberra fashionistas), his jumper was found on a trip to Paris while the classic pea-coat was purchased in Italy. A lucky boy indeed to be rocking such an international outfit!

Take us shopping with you next time Dylan (or at least let us carry your suitcases!).
