Military vibes

The Fashion Vault snapped Shantelle on her way to eat at the iconic Pancake Parlour with her friends.

This contemporary hip-hop dancer chooses to dress for function over fashion. Today she unintentionally channelled a military vibe by wearing her dad's (uber warm) army jacket.

“My favourite store in Canberra would have to be Landspeed Records as I can always find something in there to suit my needs and style," she says.

As our temperatures continue to plummet, The Fashion Vault thinks it’s time for all of us to dig out the big winter coats and scarves!

Red hot on a rainy day

With the weekend's drizzle hitting the Canberra streets it was refreshing to capture a pop of colour.

The Fashion Vault stopped to snap and chat with Tracey, a personal stylist.

Wearing a gorgeous vintage cape she brightened up the dreary streets.

One of her favourite items in her closet is the faux-leather Zara pants she is wearing. As a mother of two daughters, genuine leather pants aren’t a practical budget wardrobe item. These Zara pants were only $50, thus rightly earning a gold status in her wardrobe.

Her favourite store to take her clients shopping is David Jones, as it offers a wealth of labels at all price points under the one roof. Additionally Tracey recommends popping into the Canberra Outlet Centre to be surprised by the affordable fashions available at a steal.

Back to basics

This carpenter loves to head into NewActon to appreciate the modern structures, gardens and good food.

His weekend style is easy going and a combination of wardrobe basics.

“Fashion to me enables my character without strictly defining who I am. You have the opportunity to explore and experiment with styles. When I look good I feel good,” Lee says.

Lee’s favourite piece in his wardrobe is the ‘man-dagan’ that he wears. Purchased from General Pants, it has fast become a wardrobe staple.

The Fashion Vault loves seeing man-dagans and agree that men should invest in at least one!

The dapper carpenter

Adam from Dream Carpentry spends all day on a job site in work wear.

"I work hard in my trade and come home covered in dust, so I like to scrub up when the opportunity arises," Adam says.

MJ Bale is Adam's go-to shop for a well fitted blazer and added details like pocket squares.

The Fashion Vault loves that Adam is wearing a chambray shirt to make this look a bit more casual!

Like a boss

The Fashion Vault stopped Jordi on his way to a modelling assignment. Being in the industry we questioned him on why fashion is important to him.

"Fashion is important to me because it represents who I am through what I wear," Jordi said.

His favourite store is Hugo Boss, and when you look like an actual Hugo Boss we can’t argue with that response.

Overall Jordi’s day-to-day style is sports luxe, incorporating a mixture of high-end pieces with contemporary sportswear.
