The Hustle&Scout Fashion Market always draws a stylish crowd, and last weekend Charné Esterhuizen was the stand out for me.
Charné is in her final year of studying a Bachelor of Design and has already hit the ground running as the designer of her own label, a unisex brand called Maak. And judging by her outfit choice she clearly understands fashion.
The silhouette of her monochromatic outfit was on point. The white shirt she wears is from her label, and echoes touches of origami in the sleeves. Charné has added texture to the outfit by layering a woollen vest which is also from one of her Maak collections.
I think it was great to see her pair her own designs with a leather skirt from All About Eve, showing that her designs are versatile and easily integrated with pieces commonly found in women’s wardrobes and local fashion stores.
