This year for Valentine’s Day OutInCanberra ran a competition for a blind date at Dendy Premium Lounge for two lucky local singles to see the raunchy blockbuster Fifty Shades Darker. Enter the two lovely winners pictured above, Troy and Jess. As awkward as a blind date can be, these two met up on the night and were happy to give us some feedback on how it all went!

Jess:

Did you enjoy yourself?

I most definitely enjoyed the evening!

What made you decide to join into this?

My sister made me enter the competition, and I obliged as a good little sister does.

How was it to be matched on a blind date?

It was kind of daunting to be matched on a blind date – a lot of curiosity but exciting at the same time.

What did you think of the movie?

The movie surprised me – it was good!

Did you enjoy your premium lounge experience?

The premium lounge was fantastic! We were so well looked after, and the food and drinks were amazing. Definitely coming back for that.

What did you think of Troy (before and after the date)?

Before the date, I had no idea he existed haha! But we settled in with a quick glass of bubbly to settle the nerves and had a good chat and laugh. I think we were both a little nervous, but he was very nice and easy to chat to which made it less awkward.

Would you go out with him again?

If he asked, why not?!

Troy

Did you enjoy yourself?

Yes I did, it was a lovely evening. Excellent hospitality, great service with a smile.

What made you decide to join into this?

I saw the advertisement on Facebook and decided to apply, something spontaneous.

How was it to be matched on a blind date?

Kinda nervous at first, I haven’t gone on a blind date but also exciting because you don’t know who you will meet and what type of person they are.

What did you think of the movie?

It was the first time for me to watch of Fifty Shades movie, very different. I do see why a lot of my female friends do love the movie but for me, it was interesting but good-different interesting.

Did you enjoy your premium lounge experience?

Absolutely, great service and was looked after very well. All round a great experience.

What did you think of Jess (before and after the date)?

Before I didn’t want to think too much, it was great chatting with her and getting to know her – what she does and where she has come from, what her goals are. Lovely person to get to know.

Would you go out with her again?

I think she is an awesome woman, she has had a great life with full of adventures and experience. She knows what she has done and where she is going. It was lovely to meet her, I think her personality and mine would be great as friends but I don’t think romantically it would match.
