The Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival is back for 2017 from Saturday 8 April to Sunday 9 April. Take the time out to enjoy, sit back and relax while appreciating some of Canberra and the region’s finest wines.

Not only will wine lovers indulge in this experience, foodies are sure to enjoy themselves too with a large array of amazing food available to complement the ‘cool climatic’ wines.

You can expect wine paired perfectly with exotic foods including oysters, savoury potatoes, shredded beef, cheese platters, antipasto platters, Moroccan lamb burgers and hand made ice cream – sounds like a perfect weekend. However, most venues serving food are taking bookings, so get in quick!

Tasting adventures are available as well as artwork viewings, music from local Ned Philpot, and the opportunity to meet some of the talented winemakers who have produced internationally recognised products.

Guided tours of the vineyards by their owners are sure to impress even the tipsiest wine taster. Even the opportunity to blend and package your very own, personalised dry red is available and the chance to see a cabernet machine harvest and produce exquisite, expensive wines.

Any excuse to drink a glass (or bottle!) is fantastic in our opinion. However, enjoying it in the atmosphere of the Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival and sitting back and watching the sunset at various wineries around the region is even better. And if you can’t find a sitter for the kids over the weekend of the festival, there’s something in it for them too – scarecrow making every day from 11am-5pm. That’ll sure keep them busy while you bask in all the wine goodness.
