Mount Majura Vineyard

There is a vibrant and exciting wine industry around Canberra, which has been developing since the early 1970’s. There are now about 40 wineries in the area and “Canberra District” is Mount Majura’s official Geographic Indication.

Mount Majura Vineyard is an emerging and very dynamic boutique brand, established in 1988. In early 2006 a new winery and cellar door facility opened on site at the vineyard.

The cellar door at Mount Majura Vineyard is set up to allow guests to savour the moment. Whilst visiting the vineyard take your time with the wines and experience a seated wine tasting.

Self guided ‘gumboot tours’ around the vineyard provide a more active option, allowing participants to learn more about viticulture and what makes the site at Mount Majura Vineyard special. It also provides the chance to take in the best view from the top of the vineyard.

The vineyard is about 2 km from the northern end of Majura Road, or about 9 km from Canberra Airport. And if you're driving from Sydney to the snow, you'll probably be coming right past.

Mount Majura Vineyard finished 2007 on a high winning the Canberra & Capital Region Wine Tourism Award and the visitor experience award.
