Exhibition: Behind The Lines @ Old Parliament House

There’s never been a year like this in politics. Behind the Lines 2013 the year’s best political cartoons tells the tale of three leaders, Gillard, Rudd and Abbott through broken parliamentary alliances, caucus instability, and leadership spills, prime ministerial changes, corruption scandals, cabinet reshuffles, policies and opinion polls. Free caricatures - Whilst you’re seeing Behind the Lines 2013 (only in January) there will be a free caricaturist on site. You get to take home the drawing too! The exhibition runs until 17 November 2014. Click here for more information.

Canberra Antique & Collectables Fair - Springtime Fair - August 2014 - Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd, Sunday 24th August

The fair is one of the longest-running in Australia. Features high-quality, genuine, affordable antiques, old-world nostalgia and collectables, No reproductions or new merchandise are allowed, with all items accurately described. A purchaser will be told if any restoration has been carried out.
23 antique dealers selling a range of English, Australian and French furniture, antique and estate jewellery, maps and prints, glassware, linen, lace, bric-a-brac, silver, china and pottery, including Moorcroft pottery and Royal Doulton flambé figures.

Entry is $7 ($5 concession), children under 14 are free. Wheelchair access is available on request.

Proceeds of this Fair will assist the work of Snowy Southcare Helicopter Operating throughout the A.C.T and Southeastern N.S.W. providing emergency aero-medical and essential services.

Hours: Opening night is Friday 6pm - 9pm
Saturday 10am - 5.30pm
Sunday 10am - 4pm.
