As we reach the half-way mark of GourMay 2017, things are really starting to heat up at OutInHQ! This week we have showcased everything from Crispy Pork Belly to tasty Kingfish Ceviche and Pancakes for mum!

On Thursday Onred showcased its delectable take on the traditional Crispy Pork Belly with a side of cranberries, pomegranate and celeriac puree to warm the hearts and tastebuds of local foodies.

With an optimistic heart for warmer weather over the weekend, on Friday we presented the fresh Kingfish Ceviche as a light lunch dish from Urban Pantry in Manuka.

Saturday we sat back and relaxed with a glass of the local Clonakilla Viognier Nouveau and the Seasonal Antipasto Plate at QT Hotel’s Capitol Bar & Grill. And for mum’s special day we presented a special treat just for her with the Pumpkin Almond Meal Pancakes at Kith + Nosh.

Monday kicked off with an Indian treat and a touch of theatre as Darbar Indian showcased the Bamboo Charcoal Tuna Fish, while yesterday we continued our Braddon trifecta with the extra sweet, extra sour Crispy Rice Salad from Zaab.

However, GourMay 2017 is about more than just a range of spectacular-looking dishes, we’ve curated a series of fun, exclusive foodie events to get you out and about to try something new!

On Thursday next week, our friends over at Courtyard Restaurant are hosting an exclusive beer-matched degustation.

The night will be a celebration of fine food, produce and beer, hosted by the knowledgeable Courtyard staff in one of the Mercure Canberra’s luxurious corporate rooms.

As each dish presents a new and exciting array of flavours you will be lead through tasting notes, explanations of the flavours, ingredients, cooking techniques and how the dishes compliment the characteristics of the matched brew served alongside.

Moving toward the weekend, we want you to have fun with food and immerse yourself in the experience. To do so we have enlisted the help of NewActon’s Bicicletta to put together a Pizza and Aperol Spritz Class.

For this event we want you to get a group of friends together to have some fun, eat some pizza, sip on a spritz and meet some like-minded locals!

When you arrive the friendly Bicicletta hosts will divide ticket holders into two groups of 20 – one group will make pizza while the other learns how to pour a spritz, then you switch and have the opportunity to mingle and enjoy your delicious hard work!
