Are you dreaming of a tropical paradise? Maybe you’ve just always wanted to run full pelt into a wall of colourful powder? Well, this month The Color Run presented by Sportsgirl is giving you the opportunity to check both of these off your bucket list in one event.
Back again at Stage 88 after a sell-out event last year, The Color Run event organisers have elevated the proverbial expectations of the event and added a tropical twist to the happiest 5k on earth.
On Sunday 12 February, masses of people will gather in Commonwealth Park ready to run, dance, skip and walk down a 5-kilometre stretch. With a pre-run group Zumba warm up kicking off the event at 7:20am before the run starting at 8am.
Not only will you experience all the fun of the usual colour explosions along your travel down the rainbow road, this year The Color Run are raising the limbo bar and are whisking you away to a tropical paradise thus named the Tropicolor World Tour!
On the day runners will be covered in bursts of foam, some crazy confetti and paradise-themed scents, as well as the typical array of pink, orange, green and blue dyed cornstarch. After all of that fun, your newly bubbled and sparkled self is invited to travel on to what the organisers are calling an ‘oasis’ of palm trees, inflatable arches and island-style music.
Your island immersion doesn’t stop there though! The Color Run promises to provide an unforgettable party at the end of your 5k run. Rainbow Beach is the ultimate dance floor, arranged with the perfect Instagram backgrounds, happiest hits to move your body to and an all-round amazing atmosphere of people.
The Color Run presented by Sportsgirl is returning to Canberra for the fourth year since its conception back in 2012. There are over five million people who have crossed the finish line with them across the globe. You can add to that ever-growing number by joining their colouristic ranks this year!
As an event aimed at including everyone from young to old, there are no restrictions on who can enter this fun run. There is no timing, no divisions and marshals are all just happy to be there and have just as much fun as the runners themselves.
So, with all of this on offer, the only question we have is, “Where do we get our tickets before they’re all gone?”
