Canberra Contemporary Art Space

The Canberra Contemporary Art Space (CCAS) is Canberra’s principle contemporary art gallery. It has a primary focus on new, conceptual and experimental contemporary artwork from both local and interstate artists.

There are currently two CCAS galleries in Canberra. The main gallery at Gorman House is home to a program of curated exhibitions, performances, artists’ talks and publications that aim to provide opportunities for the chosen artists to exhibit their work within a context of current national and international practice.

The second CCAS gallery is located at 19 Furneaux St in Manuka and is primarily an artist run space that also focuses on experimental and contemporary art but featuring only emerging artists from within the ACT and surrounding areas.

CCAS is one of a national network of contemporary arts organisations (CAOs) dedicated to the generation, presentation and promotion of innovative contemporary visual arts practice in Australia.
