The Banana Leaf Restaurant and Café is a truly unique venue in the heart of the city. During the day it’s an up-market yet informal café, ideal for casual catch-ups.

There’s a large seating area outside which provides a great a-la-carte option. By night it transforms into an exclusive dining restaurant.

The food is out of this world too; a careful blend of bush tucker and Sri Lankan spices and a range of black and white curries.

Award winning chefs Hiraj de Silva and Nelson Kumaragama and their team having created a tempting menu at Banana Leaf restaurantwhere traditional Sri Lankan dishes sit side by side with modern Australian fare. You can choose from Sirloin steak, Atlantic Salmon or one of the many vegetarian options or try one of the Biriyani or something new like String Hoppers, Tradition Rice and Curry, Sri Lankan Kottu Rotis or Pittu or gluten free Sri Lankan meals.

Why not try Banana Leaf’s mouth watering mains, such as Lomprisht, Basmati rice with a fragrant combination of chicken and vegetable curries wrapped in banana leaves and baked to enhance the rich flavours of this traditional Dutch inspired meal, served with condiments, sambol and mild curry sauce.

Stop by for morning brunch, lunch, afternoon coffee, evening drinks and dinner or after-theatre coffee cake.

Different blends of coffee, take away or eat in and simple cooked breakfast from Monday to Friday.
