A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of going backstage at the Autumn/Winter 16 Westfield launch fashion show in Belconnen.

Trish Murray, Fashion Stylist for Westfield, presented all the latest trends and what to look out for in these coming cooler seasons.

Needless to say the collections were fantastic, collaborating from brands such as Cue, Bardot, Myer, Betts, Parliament, Blue Illusion, Jeans West and Roger David.

To help shape your perfect Autumn/Winter outfit – here are some key styles to observe this season:

Lighter neutrals on black

Black is key to begin your outfit. But use it as a canvas to create a story with long coats and scarves in lighter and brighter neutrals.

Turtle neck knits

This is a classic look that elongates the the body – particularly with long length sleeveless knits worn over a black long sleeve shirt and long black skinny or slim pants.

Layers with folds

Open coats and jackets with lengthened folds will add the right element to a simply coloured outfit. It is a great alternative to bold prints (as they are not so suitable for this season) to still make a statement.
