Lukas Moodysson (Lilya 4-Ever, Show Me Love, Together) returns with a boisterous, feel-good film about three 13-year old girls in early-’80s Stockholm who are determined to form a punk band despite a notable absence of musical talent.

The film has screened as part of Sydney Film Festival and will screen at Melbourne Film Festival and will officially screen in cinemas from September 18th.

Packed with humour and bursting with energy, We Are The Best! follows Bobo and Klara who are best friends with a passion for Punk music. Problem is, it’s 1982 and everyone says that Punk is dead. What the best friends lack in musical ability they make up for with a can-do attitude.

Determined more than ever to form a Punk band they recruit Hedvig, a shy but talented musician. Together these brave outcasts discover home-haircuts, friendship, the opposite sex, rivalry and some rousing Scandinavian punk. Sweet and wonderfully energetic, We Are The Best! will inspire viewers who will identify with the central characters’ insecurities, embarrassing parents, alienation and unrequited love.

With thanks to NewVision Films we have a whole bunch of double passes up for grabs! To enter, fill in the form and tell us if you ever went through a punk rock stage in your teens?
