Life is good for ad man Ruben Guthrie – he leads a party boy lifestyle, has a model fiancée and lives in a house on the water. He’s at the top of his game, until some drunken skylarking lands Ruben at the bottom of his infinity pool, lucky to be alive. Arrogant, self-absorbed and superior, Ruben goes to his first AA meeting and starts the 12 steps to getting his life back on track, which gets more complicated when his over-the-top gay best friend lands on his doorstep ready to party after failing to make it in New York…
Ruben Guthrie was shown on Opening Night of the Sydney Film Festival 2015 and hits cinemas on July 16th. Written and directed by Brendan Cowell, starring Patrick Brammall, Alex Dimitriades, Abbey Lee, Harriet Dyer, Jeremy Sims, Brenton Thwaites, Robyn Nevin and Jack Thompson.
