Welcome to the day that we not only debate the inclusion or absence of an ‘e’ in whisky, but also appreciate the spirit we all hold so dear. World Whisky Day is celebrated annually on 21 May, and its only ever more convenient that the Whisky Live Tour is dropping into the University of Canberra Refectory on 27 and 28 May.

Catering for both the whisky novice and the connoisseur, Whisky Live offers a rare opportunity to warm up with a sample of the worlds high quality whisky brands from Scotland, Ireland, USA, India and Australia.

The event will showcase stands located throughout the venue and knowledgeable whisky representatives to explain each whisky’s origin, production and unique characteristics.

Attendees can also watch and learn from an expert barman as they demonstrate how to mix a range of whisky beverages.

Although the event is about the whisky, there will also be some amazing food on offer. Guests can choose from the souvlaki station, beef carvery, pulled pork sliders, mini toasties, smoky southern-style BBQ chicken wings, potato wedges with sweet chilli and sour cream, and much more.

This year Whisky Live will also be fundraising for prostate cancer with a number of high-end whiskeys to be raffled over the two days.

Whisky Live is a ticketed public event. Anyone with a passion to discover more about whisky can attend. This is the perfect opportunity for those new or old to whisky, to taste a wide range of whisky and discover something new.
