Every season, we see trends come go. Some we love and embrace. And some, well,we need not comment. But this upcoming Spring/Summer trends, I am super excited about…

The 70’s are back baby! You may have noticed that the flares are back in. Well they never really went out for me. So ladies, pull out those vintage denims. Because this trend is going to big.

Flares are great if you are short as you can team them with a pair of wedges, and you have automatically added 6 inches to your height. Being high waisted they can also add height, by creating the illusion that you have long legs. Perfect if you are hourglass and petite. Style tip – make sure the hem line is just scraping the floor, anything shorter and it will cut you off.

The 70’s shift dress is a great piece to add into the wardrobe this coming season. It’s perfect for any shape, especially if you are an apple shape. It will help show off those great legs you have. Team it with a pair of ankle boots for spring and a pair of wedges for summer. Anything check and fringe will give that instant feel of the 70’s vibe, add a floppy hat layered with accessories.

Double denim – my favourite. It’s such a great way to look on trend and super funky. There is a trick to doing double denim right. You need to make sure that they are two different tones of denim. One always has to be lighter than the other. For example; if you are a pear shape, you always want to wear the darker denim on the bottom and aim for more of a distress denim on top. This will help create balance. And vice versa, if you are bigger on top than the bottom. Team this look with a pair of nude pumps and you have a great look. The denim pencil skirt is making a comeback as well. The great thing about this trend, it can be incorporated into your 70’s trend quite easily too.

Just remember, these are just trends, they aren’t intended for everyone. This season you will find a trend for almost anyone, from lace to graphic prints and anything in between. You too can be a trend setter.
