Trev’s @ Dickson has been a slow burner over the last few years. For those in on the secret, Trev’s breakfast, lunch and dinner have been a treat, with a sharply focussed menu delivering inventive, witty and delicious variations of classic dishes.

With the warmer weather returning, Trev’s is venturing into brunch service, and this has given the crew an opportunity to bring their style to another set of dishes. The menu contains options from the healthy through to the indulgent, with each dish bearing that special attention to detail that has made Trev’s such a hit for weekday diners.

Get off to a great start with Trev’s Fresh Breaky Juice of the Day, including a vibrant apple, orange and cranberry variation. Served with a sprig of fresh mint, the tall glass froths with freshness the rich colour.

Tapioca pearls, Kaffir Lime juice and Persian fairy floss are the surprise elements on the Seasonal Two Fruit Salad (watermelon and strawberry). The Persian fairy floss adds a sense of whimsy to the dish bringing smiles all around the table. It’s playful and fun, and puts you in a great mood to embrace all the weekend has to offer.

Feel like another sweet treat? The French Toast with blackberry compote, praline and marscapone is to die for. The baguette remains deceptively light, sending away any concerns cover the generous serving. Blackberries mix with maple syrup and, when combined with the praline and marscapone, provide exceptional balance.

For the carnivores, Trev’s Brekky has it all. Fragrant pork and fennel sausages sit beside crispy bacon, wilted spinach and field mushrooms – and every ingredient hits the mark. While there’s no aspect of the meal that needs to hide, the discovery of a tomato kasundi tucked beneath the delicious bacon revealed a taste sensation (and worked particularly well with the creamy scrambled eggs!).

As the clientele wanders in to charge themselves for the day, the sun beams the tables outside. Meanwhile inside the cafe, the laid-back jazz and lounge music is only obscured by the sound of milk being heated at the gargantuan, red coffee machine on the central counter.

For the addicts, the smell of a fresh Cosmorex brew gets cravings rising and mouths watering in anticipation of the morning’s hit. Adore Teas sit alongside for a hit of antioxidants. All-in-all Trev’s is a fantastic way to start the day. Be sure to get in soon before the secret gets out!
