There’s no stopping The McClymonts.

It’s been a busy year already for the trio originally from Grafton, NSW, having taken out Group of the Year for the fourth year running at the Australian Country Music Awards, taking their Golden Guitar tally to six.

The three sisters also scored the Aria for Best Country Album in late 2010 for their latest release, Wrapped Up Good.

For the past few years, The McClymonts have spent a large chunk of their time writing, recording and performing in the home of country music, Nashville.

“Nashville definitely feels like home now. We’ve found out all the good eating spots!” laughs youngest sister, Mollie McClymont.

In May, the group will return to the US to record their third album, which is due for release in Australia in 2012. The group have started writing on the album, but Mollie says it’s too early to say how it will turn out.

“We always write our best and in a way, you never know what to expect. It’s still very early on.”

Before they head back to the US, the girls are looking forward to a big national tour, including a slot supporting Chris Isaak at Enlighten in Canberra.

The McClymonts have visited the nation’s capital recently, having played a lively slot at Australia Day Live.
So what can Canberrans expect when the group return?

“Expect a high energy performance with a medley of a few songs, plus some new covers,” says Mollie.
