Over the last few weeks all Canberrans were asking the question… “#GuardiansOfStyle who are they?”

Yesterday in front of the Canberra Times Fountain it was revealed that the Guardians Of Style were a part of the new season style and culture campaign run by the Canberra Centre! One of the most innovative and memorable to date. The aim was to push the boundaries with the random pop-up style installations, and random it was.

The group of live mannequins started popping up at various Canberra events – including the opening of the Canberra Comedy Festival, Enlighten Festival, Diner En Blanc, The Seppelt Black Opal Stakes and Skyfire. Each model, from Victoria’s Models, held a stance long enough that many bystanders thought they were ‘real’ mannequins, until onlookers caught a flutter of an eyelid or watched on with curiosity for long enough that they switched to another ‘pose’. That’s when the question started, who are they? All there was to identify them was a white board with ‘#GuardiansOfStyle’.

“We wanted this to fit in with the cultural calendar in Canberra and to create a cultural experience of our own – one that entertained and inspired,” said Canberra Centre’s Marketing Manager Tero Blinnikka.

The mannequins (models) were expertly styled by Canberra Centre’s resident stylists Victoria Schnabl and Francesca Droulias for each pop-up event, dressed to showcase the latest A/W ’14 fashion trends and styles.

Now that we know who they are, you can catch the Guardians of Style as they showcase more of the latest Autumn Winter 2014 fashion ranges from Canberra Centre’s collection of Australian and international brands from Friday 28 March to Sunday 30 March on Level 1 in the Canberra Centre.
