Since their spectacular success in the 2003 Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, The Eggner Trio have won a special place in the hearts of Australian audiences.

This April they return to Australia for the fourth time, including a stop at Llewellyn Hall, ANU on Thursday 7th April 2011.

The three brothers grew up in a tiny town in northern Austria, and first formed their trio when youngest brother Florian was just 10.

All three studied at the Bruckner Conservatorium, Linz and then the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. The Trio’s first international prize came in 1999 when it was awarded first prize at the International Brahms Competition, Poertschach, Austria.

The Trio has toured extensively throughout Europe and around the world including Japan, USA, New Zealand, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark and Spain.

While in Australia the Trio will be artist-in-residence for the Musica Viva Festival Chamber Players Program, where they will teach and mentor Australian Youth Orchestra chamber musicians in preparation for the Musica Viva Festival.
