Lennox Gardens will again shimmer to life under the light of 2,000 candles as Japanese and Australian cultures unite at the 12th annual Canberra Nara Candle Festival.

This year’s festival celebrates the 21st anniversary of Canberra’s sister city relationship with Nara Japan and is expected to attract more than 10,000 people.

Saturday’s event will feature stunning lighting across the park, and activities which can be enjoyed by the whole family such as ikebana and drumming workshops, calligraphy, origami, lantern making, kite flying, martial arts and sumo wrestling demonstrations.

There will be an exciting line-up of Japanese entertainers which include sensational drumming ensemble Wadaiko Rindo, Australia’s Got Talent stars George Kamikawa and Noriko Tadano and local talent Steve Allen.

The Canberra Nara Candle Festival is held in the Canberra Nara Peace Park in Lennox Gardens (behind Hyatt Hotel Canberra) from 4.30pm to 9:00pm on Saturday 25 October.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic cultural experience and chance to embark on a fun family outing!
