Taste It line-up

Taste It Festival 2012 is well under way and is proving to be an exciting festival of food in Canberra! The next three events coming up at Legends Spanish Restaurant, Bicicletta and La Scala Restaurant are looking forward to welcoming you through their doors.

On Friday 19th October, a Spanish Fiesta is taking place at Legends Spanish Restaurant. Enjoy traditional and refreshing sangria. Choose from an extensive tapas menu and indulge in a tasty paella, Spanish wine and warm, crispy churros.

All tapas dishes on the Legends menu are authentic and they have a variety of paellas to choose from; Traditional chicken and seafood, Paella de Carne (Paella with meat), Alicante (duck and wild mushroom), Meloso (chorizo and chickpea) and the chef is happy to mix and match any variety on request.

The aim of dining the Spanish way is to take your time, enjoy your sangria or wine, pass plates to each other, try each other’s dishes, share, chat, laugh and enjoy the whole experience from start to finish.

Legends have celebrated their 15-year anniversary this year and are still the only Spanish Restaurant in the city.

Next on the menu, Bicicletta Italian Restaurant are holding a three-course Italian dining experience on Monday 22nd October. Enjoy a three-course dinner, plus a carafe of Bicicletta red or white wine.

You can choose from calamari, bruschetta or arancini for entrees, any pasta or pizza for mains and gelati or pannacotta for dessert.

The atmosphere at Bicicletta is relaxed and casual, while still being a fine-dining restaurant. The staff at Bicicletta think it has an Italian bistro feel about it and say it is like ‘one big Italian party’. Bicicletta is located at the Diamante Hotel, so why not make a night of it and book a room at the Diamante Hotel to indulge in a mini get away.

On Wednesday 24th October, La Scala Restaurant are hosting Assaggio Italiano. La Scala are an accredited member of The Academy of Italian Cuisine, this event is a truly authentic Italian dining experience.

Enjoy a five-course dinner at La Scala and savor the flavours of seared scallops and twice cooked pork belly, crispy skin Atlantic Salmon, white Belgian chocolate pannacotta and more.

If you purchase a ticket for this event before Monday 22nd October 2012, you will receive a complimentary glass of wine on arrival.

La Scala has been operating since 1988 and are a Canberra icon. Let chefs Gabrielle Saccardo and Abel Diaz take you on a culinary journey through the heart of Italian cuisine.
