With a quirky name and their 2-for-1 pizza nights, Debacle continues to be a staple favourite among Braddonites and other Northsiders. Having moved to a larger venue in the Mode 3 building and a recent change in management means things are fresh at this popular Braddon watering hole.

Head chef Michael Lee has added an Asian influence to the menu, making the most of his brand-new industrial woks. New dishes including stir-fries, noodle soups, and rice dishes now feature on the Debacle menu.

A Tom Yum Soup with beautifully cooked king prawns is a delightful treat, and a flavoursome Chicken Pad Thai will full you up on noodles and fresh flavours.

Other exciting new ideas are in store, including a new cocktail menu. Debacle continues to impress with their extraordinary range of beers and ciders. Choose from 12 tap beers including English pale ales, Czech pilsners, German lagers & pilsners, wheat beers and Australian pale ale. Thirteen types of cider are also available, as well as up to 40 other bottled beers from Australian micro- and mainstream breweries.

To complement the new Asian menu, Debacle have seven Asian beers that will complete your Asian feast. They might have 30 international beers, but they support local wine growers and labels such as Dionysus Winery, Lake George Winery and Pankhurst Wines. They also take advantage of local food producers as well, using bread from up and coming Danny’s Bakery in Narrabundah.

On the regular menu, there’s more to Debacle than just their pizzas. They’ve upped the ante with a refresh of the breakfast menu.

Try the Smoked Salmon Hash Brown Stack – baked hash brown, layered with smoked salmon, avocado, sour cream and spicy capsicum relish. This dish combines crunchy and creamy elements perfectly. The spicy capsicum relish on top was a stroke of genius. You might be impressed by the beautiful presentation of the pancakes with mixed berry compote maple syrup and raspberry sorbet (made in house). But it tastes even better than it looks. The pancake itself is soft and fluffy, delicious and cake-like in texture.

The menu has been created with customers in mind. There are plenty of fresh salads on the menu at the moment. Lamb and Beetroot Feta Salad with baby spinach, roast beetroot, feta cheese, onion, red balsamic vinegar reduction is a great summer option.

Seafood lovers will appreciate the care taken to cook the seafood to perfection in the Seafood Marinara Linguine with King Prawns, scallops, mussels, squid.

Check out the blackboard specials – the dessert of the day changes regularly. On this occasion, the Dessert Platter for Two consisted of a chocolate mint cup with mango sorbet, strawberry jelly, chocolate mousse, and chocolate brownie. Delicious!
