Pankhurst Wines

by Jessica Willcocks 6 July 2011

Head to Pankhurst Winery in July for a special truffle tasting event as part of the Capital Country Truffle Festival.

Located only 25 minutes away from the city centre, Pankhurst Wines have been operating for over 20 years and are well known for their award winning wine.

On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July, enjoy specially created truffle pane as part of regular wine tastings, as well as a range of cheeses.

Pankhurst Wines' current tastings include their 2008 Sangiovese and 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon which are both gold medal winners. The Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully smooth and has earnt the tag of “Dorothy May”, which is only given to the very best years of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Pankhurst Wines have also released their first 2009 Tempranillo, a beautiful, supple, full-bodied wine that has been a huge hit.

Also available to taste is the Pinot Chutney, which is great with cheese, cold roast beef or in a stew and perfect as the Canberra winter sets in.

Truffle tastings will take place at Pankhurst Wines on the 16th and 17th of July.
