Music lovers are in for a treat this month as there are a number of gigs on the horizon, including big name acts and home-grown talent. To help you put the very best live music on your agenda for October, we have narrowed it down for you.

 

Stonefield at Academy Club
7:00pm Friday 7 October

Australia’s favourite psych rock sisters Stonefield are hitting the road on a massive national headline tour in support of their acclaimed sophomore LP As Above, So Below which was released in July 2016. The Melbourne band will wind up a series of dates across metro and regional centres this spring in their biggest Australian tour to date.

 

Coda Conduct at Transit Bar
8:00pm Friday 7 October

It’s their first time on tour since a whirlwind 2015 saw them release their debut EP, appear on Triple J Breakfast, be chosen as Unearthed Feature artists, play Groovin The Moo in Canberra, and gain a reputation for their grin-inducing, high-energy live show. Now the two MCs are back with new music, new fans, and a newfound determination to get hands up and booties dropping around the country.

 

Plutonic Lab at Transit Bar
8:00pm Saturday 8 October

Plutonic Lab hits Transit Bar to launch his new full length album Deep Above The Noise which was recently made Double J’s Feature Album Of The Week along with the first single Sliced Bread being added to Triple J. Supported by KPI, Jimmy Pike and ANOMIC. Plutonic Lab has provided the backdrop for countless artists over a mammoth career spanning two decades, collaborating on over 80 releases locally and internationally.

 

Diesel at The Street Theatre
7:30pm Friday 21 October

On his new album Americana, Diesel pays tribute to the artists that inspired the musician he would become – one of our nation’s most lauded, accomplished and hard-working rock guitarists and singers – by putting his own unique stamp on a collection of classic songs.

 

The Jezabels at ANU Bar
8:00pm Friday 21 October

Frontier Touring are pleased to announce the long-awaited national album tour by one of Australia’s finest bands: The Jezabels. The four-piece will return to stages across the country this October, following on from the success of their stunning third album SYNTHIA, released in February 2016 and hailed as their finest effort yet.

 

Regurgitator at the UC Refectory
7:00pm Saturday 22 October

Regurgitator has announced that they are heading out on the road this month playing a handful of dates around the country. The Human Distribution tour is their first lengthy national tour since last year but that doesn’t mean they haven’t been busy in 2016. This year marks the 20th anniversary of their debut album Tu-Plang. They boast one of the lengthiest careers in Aussie music and yet they’re still going strong.

 

Kate Ceberano & Paul Grabowsky at The Street Theatre
7:30pm Sunday 23 October

This very personal journey into words and music by two of Australia’s most respected musicians sees reinterpretations of some of the great love songs of the past 50 years. Kate an Paul present stripped back renditions of love songs which were selected because of their ability to connect on a deep emotional level and more importantly, because they have influenced both artists at some point in their lives.

 

Thundamentals at the UC Refectory
8:00pm Saturday 29 October

Fresh off the back of performing to massive arena crowds across Australia and New Zealand with Macklemore x Ryan Lewis, Thundamentals will head out on the road for a bunch of live shows from October to December for their Never Say Never tour! This marks their first headline run since their massive sold out Elephant In The Room Tour last year, which took them around the country for 25 shows and performing to almost 20,000 Thundakats.
