What are your deepest fears?

Friday 31 October is the next Night at the Museum and we want you to step into the shadows and experience fear. At each Night at the Museum we explore a different theme using stories and objects from our collection.

Perhaps the strongest of all emotions, fear has a physical dimension. Faced with impending danger, your hair stands on end, your blood runs cold, your flesh creeps and adrenalin pumps as you flinch, shake or quiver.

Rather than carve pumpkins or walk the streets looking for candy, why not get to the heart of the matter? The Museum will host a fright night with a difference as we play with the darkest of your fears. What would make you hit the panic button?

The galleries will be open and full of surprises. Ever been afraid of the dark? Try dancing in the dark and bust out the moves you want nobody to see. Face your fear of public speaking with our open-mic comedy festival. Hear talks about fear-evoking objects, including our ‘wet’ specimens from the Institute of Anatomy.

The Hall will come alive with music from DJ T:MO and Mr Michael. There will be dancing, robots, art and games. Face perhaps the biggest fear of all, the fear of death. Hear stories from embalmer and funeral director Peter Dinn, or maybe even decorate a coffin. Join in with Graffik Paint who will be creating fear-inspired graffiti.

Rise above your fear of failure by taking part in the Museum Game. Make a team of up to four players and, armed with an iPad, explore the galleries to make connections between the objects on display. Be surprising, take a creative leap and, most importantly, be intriguing to your competitors, because that is how you win.

After you experience Night at the Museum: FEAR, we suspect you’ll be sleeping with the lights on!

Ever had the fear of missing out? Get your ticket now. Don’t be frightened to dress up in your scariest outfit and be in the running to win prizes!
