Australian Idol finalist Mark Spano has won the eagerly-sought after spot as special guest support artist on the Chris Isaak Australian tour.

The legendary Californian singer/songwriter met Mark when he was the Guest Mentor on an episode of Australian Idol late last year during a promotional visit to Australia.

Mark entered the competition whilst working as a labourer, after his singing career had been put on hold after developing a polyp on his vocal chords which required surgery. Winning incredible support from the public throughout the contest, Mark went on to finish third, a result that re-ignited his desire to pursue a full-time career as a musician.

Mark will perform as a duo with fellow guitarist Jaimi Faulkner, who also plays a stomp box and harmonica. He will appear on all shows except for WA Leeuwin Estate and SA Barossa Under The Stars.

“Meeting Chris Isaak during Australian Idol was a huge high within the whole experience,” Mark said. “He has a charisma on and off stage that reaches so many people. I never thought that I would ever have a chance to perform on the same stage with such an incredible international talent. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Chris kicks off his Australian tour with two sold out shows at Leeuwin Estate, WA on Saturday March 7 and Sunday March 8. His brand new studio album ‘Mr Lucky’ is released on February 28 (Universal Music) to coincide with the tour.

Final tickets to all shows are on sale now.
